Yearly Physical Schedule
Everyone knows it's really important to get physicals and stay on top of your health. With the passage of the Affordable Care Act, most preventive care which includes annual physicals are FREE! We get the question often, "how do I know when my kids are eligible for their annual check ups?" The answer is.... it depends on your plan and when it renews. If you have an individual plan that you bought on your own, not through an employer, then most likely the plan renews January 1st of each year and your benefits run on a CALENDAR year, so you would be entitled to a physical every year. If you have your benefits through an employer then most likely your benefits run on a PLAN year and you would need to know when the plan renews. So for example if the plan renews July 1st each year, then you can get a physical anytime in that plan year. Some employer plans still run on a CALENDAR year even if they renew a different month, so it's important to check with your insurance company or employer to find out.
